On Honda Exiting F1

As Honda President and CEO Takui Fukui decided to cut $300m (US) from his expenses list, I muse over how F1 has got itself to the state in which one of the premier engineering companies in the world decided that the premier racing engineering series in the world wasn't for them.

The conclusion has almost nothing to do with the global economic downturn, and everything to do with the increasingly deranged activities of those at the sport's helm

Later than planned, the results from the Japanese and Chinese GPs have been added to the standings. And we're set up for a close finish, with 10 points covering the top four teams.

Well, after the Appeal Court ruling that the appeal was inadmissable (which screams "cop out" to me), the Belgian Grand Prix Results stand as modified by the stewards of the event, and have now been added to the giles-guthrie.com Fantasy F1 competition.

Scots Music Group Demonstration

The Scottish Music Group encouraged traditional musicians to protest the loss of sponsorship from the Scottish Arts Council outside the Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood. The event was well attended, with many MSPs participating in the demonstration.

Unlike in F1, where five of the top ten qualifiers finished the race in their qualifying positions at the "wonderful new" Valencia track, there's been quite a lot of movement in the Fantasy F1 table. I'm steering well clear of the ensuing catfight between sisters Susan Guthrie & Linda Thompson.
