5.	Russian-born American Immanuel Velikovsky was a physician, but made his mark on the world as a historical author, publishing many books that challenged the hitherto dominant theories of the day. Whilst much of what he said has been debunked, som eo fhis pronouncements were subsequently experimentally verified, and he deserves his place in history for at least trying to make people think about the world order.
